What is a UX team like? Discover who will work on your project

When you sign up for a service, such as home Internet, you want to know all the details before signing the contract: the speed, the commitment period, whether the router is included in the installation price… So it makes sense that before hiring a UX team, you want to know who will be working on your digital product’s creation or improvement process.

Having an intuitive and attractive design that drives your business growth is becoming increasingly important. In a UX team like Audax Studio’s, every member plays a crucial role in building a digital product that meets your expectations as a client and helps you achieve success.

Roles in a UX Team

Within a user experience team, there are different roles that work together to achieve the best possible results. Today, we will explain these roles so you know who will be working for you at Audax Studio.

UX Designer

The UX Designer is responsible for the overall user experience, ensuring that the digital product is intuitive and easy to use. Their tasks include research, working alongside the UX Researcher, conducting interviews, surveys, and studies to understand user needs and behaviors.

They also help develop Buyer Personas, which are detailed profiles representing ideal customers for your business or service. The UX Designer maps out the complete user journey to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement, then, based on prior research, creates wireframes—the basic structure of your digital product.

Lastly, this role creates interactive prototypes used to test ideas and workflows before final development and organizes testing to evaluate design effectiveness. Once the digital product is designed, it is iterated and refined based on feedback and test results.

UI Designer

In a UX team, the UI Designer is responsible for the product’s visual appearance, creating attractive and consistent interfaces. Creating high-fidelity designs includes typography, colors, icons, and graphics, among others. Their role is to develop and maintain style guides to ensure consistency across all digital products, later conducting tests to verify this consistency and the effectiveness of the visual design.

Additionally, they create and manage component libraries and work on responsive design, ensuring that interfaces adapt and function correctly across different devices and screen sizes, such as a laptop or mobile phone. They work closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented correctly.

Product Designer

Within a UX team, the Product Designer ccombines aspects of UX and UI, focusing on both the user experience and visual design while aligning these disciplines with the digital product’s goals.

This role collaborates with development, marketing, and business departments to ensure that the product design aligns with the client’s objectives. Their tasks include user research, conducting studies to understand user needs and preferences, and creating wireframes and prototypes.

They assist UX and UI Designers by generating ideas and design concepts to solve specific problems and conducting usability tests with users to adjust designs based on received feedback.

UX Researcher

This role is crucial at Audax Studio because we always build digital products based on thorough and complete research. The UX Researcher specializes in collecting and analyzing data about user behavior and needs, mainly in the research phase.

The UX Researcher conducts interviews, surveys, and studies, analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data to extract insights. They also design and manage surveys to gather user opinions and data, compiling reports that can be consulted when needed.

Additionally, they work alongside designers to visualize the user journey and identify critical points, implementing necessary design changes based on insights.

Product Manager

The Product Manager is responsible for the digital product’s vision and strategy, ensuring that it aligns with market needs and client objectives. Their role is highly organizational, as they manage and facilitate collaboration between design, development, marketing, and sales teams. They also coordinate communication with stakeholders, keeping them informed about the process and aligning their expectations with all involved parties.

Their work includes creating and maintaining a detailed roadmap that guides product design and development, deciding which features and improvements should be implemented based on user and business value, and defining and communicating the product’s vision and mission.

Additionally, they evaluate market trends and competition and analyze key metrics to measure success, identify areas for improvement, iterate the product, and achieve set objectives.

Product Owner

Every project needs a person who acts as a link between stakeholders and the development team to ensure the product meets business expectations and requirements. This is the role of the Product Owner.

Their main responsibilities include writing clear user stories, reviewing and validating work completed by the development team, and collecting and prioritizing feedback from both users and stakeholders. To perform their job effectively, this role must attend meetings, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives.

Design Ops

The Design Ops role focuses on establishing work methodologies to improve the team’s efficiency and quality. They create and standardize design processes and select, implement, and maintain the necessary tools.

Their tasks also include managing documentation for design processes, providing ongoing training and support to the design team, and ensuring that all designs meet set standards. Once a methodology is established, it is important to continuously evaluate and improve it.

UX Writer

The UX Writer specializes in creating written content that guides and enhances the user experience within a digital product. They write content ranging from brief interface texts or button labels to more extensive texts based on prior research and analysis.

They work closely with designers and developers to effectively integrate content while adapting to the brand’s tone and style to align with its identity and target audience.

Design Systems

The Design Systems expert is responsible for creating and maintaining a consistent design system that can be used across all company products. At Audax Studio, we are specialists in Design Systems because we work closely with the client’s development team, ensuring that all information and design elements are properly transferred to avoid any issues during the development phase.

Some of the functions of this role include creating and maintaining reusable UI components such as buttons, forms, and menus to ensure consistency across products, developing and maintaining detailed style guides that describe the use of these components and elements, and collaborating with designers and developers to implement the design system and provide ongoing support.

CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization)

The CRO specialist focuses on improving a product’s conversion rate by optimizing experiences and workflows to increase the number of users who complete a desired action. This role collects data to identify behaviors and trends and detects points where conversion can be improved.

They work with marketing, design, and development teams to implement planned changes, running A/B tests to evaluate results. Finally, they create detailed reports on the impact of optimizations and provide future recommendations.
